Shriya's birthday this year was extra special as she had her grandparents, grand aunt and great granny with her. She chose to invite 8 of her best friends to the Jacob Ballas children's garden. Shriya and I shopped for some simple party favors together the previous day and it was all very fuss free. All that Dad and I had to do was simply order snacks at the cute little kids cafe outside and pay for it. Our little guests had a great time playing in the water fountains, building sand castles and finding their way out of the maze. It was a beautiful morning and the few moms and dads who had decided to come to drop off their kids got to enjoy a nice cuppa over some chitchat and magazines while their kids were all safe inside the gardens having fun.
Vaibhav's birthday was more recent and such a breeze. He wanted just 4 friends to come over and spend the day with him. We had a sumptuous Italian lunch followed by a homemade white chocolate cake which the kids and I baked together with the help of Betty Crocker. Right after lunch all of us trooped down to the theatres to watch 'Horrid Henry', the movie. It was a challenge and a treat both, to handle 6 kids for an entire day. The kids loved the movie and A and I had more fun watching them enjoy. Btw, the movie is one that anyone below 10 would enjoy and for everybody else-pure torture!!
Both celebrations were simple, easy and so joyful. The little ones had fun, we had fun and we'll all remember it as very memorable birthdays. All the more because these would be our last ones with our Singapore friends. Yes, we are relocating. But more on that in another post.
